Andhra CM-led SIPB approves Rs 2.08 lakh crore investment proposals
In a state of India called Andhra Pradesh, a group of leaders called the SIPB decides which big projects can be built.
The leader of the state, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, chairs this group.
At their 20th meeting, they said yes to 25 big projects worth more than two lakh crore rupees — that is like a mountain of coins.
These projects include factories, clean-energy plants, food companies and giant computer buildings called data centres.
Together, they will give jobs to more than 21,000 people.
The biggest project is a data centre worth 85,200 crore rupees.
Mr. Naidu also wants new things to be made in the state, like batteries, green fuel and robots.
He said some people are telling untrue stories that the new factories are dirty, but he believes the projects are good for the state.
He also wants roads, trains and ports to be improved so farmers can sell their fruits to other countries.
Mr. Naidu hopes the state will grow richer and more people will find jobs.
Andhra Pradesh's State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, approved 25 investment proposals worth Rs 2.08 lakh crore (Rs 2,08,406 crore) at its 20th meeting on Wednesday.
The projects, spanning industries, energy, IT, electronics and food processing, are expected to generate 21,627 jobs across the state.
The largest proposal was ReNew AP Green Data Centre's Rs 85,200 crore project in Anakapalli district, followed by Data Center Holdings India's Rs 58,743 crore and AM Intelligence Labs' Rs 31,387 crore projects in Visakhapatnam, and Agastya Green Energy's Rs 7,800 crore project in Kurnool.
Naidu directed officials to promote emerging sectors such as green ammonia, lithium batteries and robotics, and alleged that 'fake campaigns' on social media were spreading 'misinformation' about industrial projects.
Targets include completing the remaining 37 MSME parks by September and inaugurating Moolapeta Port in December; across 20 SIPB meetings, 363 proposals worth Rs 13.78 lakh crore have been approved cumulatively.
