Two Suspects Arrested in SBI ATM Robbery and Custodian Murder
Two bad men robbed money from an ATM cash truck in a city called Bidar.
During the robbery they shot at the workers who were carrying the cash.
One worker, Giri Venkatesh, died, and another worker named Shivakumar was badly hurt.
The robbers ran away with a huge amount of money — 83 lakh rupees.
They escaped to a faraway place called Hyderabad and are also suspected in another shooting there.
The police looked for them for a very long time, about 19 months.
Finally, a police team led by officer Pradeep Gunti found them in a place called Bihar.
The two men are named Aman Kumar Singh and Alok Kumar.
People in Bidar were very happy and set off crackers to celebrate.
Now the police will bring the men back to Bidar to face justice.
Bidar police arrested Aman Kumar Singh and Alok Kumar in Bihar's Vaishali district, about 19 months after the SBI ATM robbery and murder.
On January 16, 2025, two helmeted men allegedly opened fire on CMS employees transporting cash for an SBI ATM in Bidar.
Cash custodian Giri Venkatesh was killed in the daylight attack, while fellow employee Shivakumar sustained serious injuries.
The suspects fled with a trunk containing Rs 83 lakh and are also suspected in the Afzalgunj firing incident in Hyderabad.
The arrests were made by a police team led by SP Pradeep Gunti, and residents of Bidar celebrated the development with crackers.
