Congress Plans House-to-House Survey to Protect Genuine Voters in Telangana

The Congress party in Telangana wants to make sure that people who are allowed to vote are not removed from the voter list by mistake.

They plan to go door to door in every polling booth area to check on voters.

Some voters were put in a special list called ASDD, which means absent, shifted, deceased, or duplicate.

Congress wants to find out if putting these voters in that list was fair and correct.

The Election Commission has proposed removing 73 lakh voters from the draft list out of 3.38 crore voters in the state.

Congress thinks some of those voters are genuine and should keep their right to vote.

A leader named Sachin Sawant said the BJP is trying to remove votes of poor people, women, and minority groups.

He also said the BJP is using this process to win elections unfairly.

Congress says it will raise objections after the Election Commission publishes the draft list.

The party says it will collect its own data instead of relying on the Election Commission's information.
