BJP Wins Mayor Elections in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota
The BJP won mayor elections in three large cities in Rajasthan.
These cities were Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota.
City councillors voted to choose their mayors.
BJP candidates received more votes than Congress candidates in all three cities.
Some independent councillors voted for the BJP candidates.
In Kota, the BJP candidate won 65 votes out of 100.
In Jaipur, the BJP candidate won 89 votes out of 150.
In Jodhpur, the BJP candidate won 53 votes out of 100.
There were also brief disagreements outside counting centers over access and damaged vehicles.
BJP nominees won the mayoral elections in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota municipal corporations.
Anusuiya Goswami won Kota with 65 votes against Congress nominee Sunita Suman’s 35.
Sunil Kothari won Jaipur with 89 votes, while Congress nominee Sunita Mawar received 60.
Prasanna Chandra Mehta won Jodhpur with 53 votes against Congress nominee Rajendra Singh Solanki’s 47.
BJP’s Jitendra Chopra also defeated Congress candidate Umardin by one vote in Suket Municipality.
