Bengal CM denies BJP role in CJP volunteer's father's death
A young man named Shaik Abdul Hafeez wanted to help the school in his village.
He went to the school to check if the children had things like toilets and clean drinking water.
His group, called CJP, runs a campaign named 'School Thik Karo' to fix schools.
On the evening of that same day, some angry people came to his house.
The CJP says those people were workers of a political party called the BJP.
Hafeez and his father, Janab Mafik, were hurt.
His father hurt his head badly and sadly died in the hospital on Saturday.
A leader named Suvendu Adhikari said the BJP had nothing to do with the attack.
He said the people who did it are criminals and will be arrested.
The police have already arrested three of the five people named in the case.
Suvendu Adhikari, described in reports as Bengal's chief minister, denied any BJP role in the assault on CJP volunteer Shaik Abdul Hafeez and the death of his father Janab Mafik.
The CJP alleged that armed individuals identified as local BJP workers forcibly entered Hafeez's residence on August 13 and assaulted him and his family.
Janab Mafik died on Saturday night from severe head injuries sustained during the alleged assault at the family's residence.
Three of the five people named in the FIR have been arrested, and Adhikari said the remaining two will also be held.
The CJP claimed a school teacher had informed political workers about Hafeez's 'School Thik Karo' school inspection, prompting the attack, and that the attackers demanded an apology video.
