On India's Independence Day, a leader named Suvendu Adhikari, who is the Chief Minister of West Bengal, raised the Indian flag.

He said that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has a big dream called 'Viksit Bharat 2047', which means making India a developed country by 2047.

Mr. Adhikari said a developed West Bengal would help make that dream come true.

He also remembered Syama Prasad Mookerjee, a leader who started a political party long ago.

The ceremony included a parade by the Kolkata Police and colourful floats.

One float celebrated the 125th birthday of Syama Prasad Mookerjee.

The national song 'Vande Mataram' was also played, as it was its 150th year.

The Chief Minister gave medals to police officers for their good service.
