Delhi HC Orders DUSIB to Prepare Weather Contingency Plans for AIIMS Patients
The Delhi High Court has told the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) to make emergency plans to help patients and their families who stay outside hospitals like AIIMS.
These plans are for very hot and very cold weather.
The court wants two plans: one for the summer and one for the winter.
AIIMS has already made some changes, like adding more beds and providing food and security.
The court is happy with these steps but wants more planning to make sure everyone is safe and comfortable.
They also asked lawyers to help raise money for better shelters.
Delhi High Court directed DUSIB to prepare contingency plans for heatwave and coldwave conditions to protect patients and attendants at AIIMS.
Summer plan to be prepared in January-February and implemented from May-June, extendable to July-August.
Winter plan to be framed in July-August and implemented from December to February.
AIIMS has enhanced shelter facilities, providing 750 beds, food support, and security arrangements.
Court appreciated the coordinated efforts but emphasized the need for continued supervision and structured planning.
