Indian-origin doctor jailed for filming women in US hospital
An Indian-origin doctor named Advait Deshmukh, who worked at a hospital in Ohio, USA, was sent to jail for six months.
He was caught secretly filming women in the restroom at his workplace.
He admitted to doing this and was also ordered to go to meetings for people with similar problems and to register as a sex offender for 15 years.
He will also have to go to therapy and be on probation for three years.
This happened in a court in Ohio.
Advait Deshmukh, an Indian-origin medical resident, was sentenced to six months in jail.
He pleaded guilty to secretly filming women in employee restrooms at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.
He was charged with one count of attempted tampering with evidence and seven counts of voyeurism.
The court ordered him to register as a sex offender for 15 years and attend Sexaholics Anonymous meetings.
He will also serve three years of probation and continue mental health and sex offender treatment.
