Telangana Reorganises Hyderabad Police Jurisdictions After Municipal Boundary Changes
The Government of Telangana changed the map used by police in Hyderabad.
The changes affect the Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri commissionerates.
In total, 76 police units had their boundaries changed.
The goal is to match police areas with new municipal boundaries.
Officials said this should help police supervise areas and respond more quickly.
Some neighborhoods will now be handled by different police stations or zones.
A new Uppal zone and several divisions were created in Malkajgiri.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police station was also renamed Shamshabad police station.
