Ladakh Ships First Lilium Consignment as Cultural Festival Concludes
Ladakh sent its first large shipment of flowers to markets in India.
The shipment contained 15,000 Lilium stems grown high in the Himalayan mountains.
The flowers came in several colors and could last for up to seven days.
Officials hope selling flowers will create more jobs and income for local people.

The project has employed 15 local women and grown more than 25 lakh flowers in 60 days.
Officials plan to expand high-value floriculture to 200 acres across Ladakh by next year.
