India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

He gave Putin a personal message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi wants to meet Putin at a regional meeting in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

He also invited Putin to a BRICS meeting in New Delhi.

Putin said India and Russia’s trade was growing after declining slightly the previous year.

He praised Modi for paying close attention to the relationship.

The countries discussed trade, energy, nuclear power, technology and other areas.

Russia said it was ready to provide more fertiliser for Indian agriculture.
