MP urges Andhra Pradesh prayers for Modi’s 25-year service
A member of India’s Parliament has suggested a special statewide event in Andhra Pradesh.
The event would mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public service.
It is proposed for October 7, 2026.
People could hold prayers at temples and other places of worship.
They could also take part in voluntary service activities, called seva.
The plan includes Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Sikh institutions.
The proposal must follow constitutional rules and receive approval from the institutions involved.
The MP said the event should bring people together and help communities.
Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to facilitate statewide prayers and voluntary service on October 7, 2026.
The date marks 25 years since Narendra Modi became Gujarat’s Chief Minister in 2001.
Ramesh also brought the proposal to Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s attention.
The proposed activities include prayers at temples, dargahs, churches and Gurudwaras across Andhra Pradesh.
Ramesh said the commemoration would promote spiritual diversity, social harmony and service rather than only ceremonial events.
