Telangana to contest High Court stay on Kalyana Lakshmi schemes

The Telangana government gives money to help people get married through two programs called Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak.

A court called the High Court said the programs must stop for now.

This happened because someone asked the court to check if the programs were set up properly.

The government is not happy about this decision.

It wants to ask a bigger group of judges to let the programs continue.

The government says the programs help poor people and follow the rules of the country's constitution.

It is also checking why its lawyers did not give the court a strong answer.

The government says it will fix mistakes made by the old government.

So far, the programs have helped more than 16 lakh people and spent over 16,000 crore rupees.

The government hopes the programs will start again soon.
