Jammu Court Rejects Insha Jan Bail in Pulwama Case
A court in Jammu has decided not to release Insha Jan on bail for now.
She is accused in the case about the 2019 Pulwama attack.
The attack killed 40 CRPF personnel when a vehicle carrying explosives struck their convoy.
Investigators say Jan and her father helped Jaish-e-Mohammed members with shelter, food and other support.
They also allege that militants stayed at her home and that a video of the suicide attacker was recorded there.
Jan’s lawyers said she had been jailed for more than six years, that the trial was moving slowly and that she had health problems.
The court said the accusations appeared believable at the bail stage and that releasing her could affect witnesses.
The judge also said the bail decision does not determine whether Jan is guilty at the main trial.
