Four people went trekking to Churdhar peak in Himachal Pradesh.

They included a couple from Haryana and two young men from Punjab.

The group became lost while walking back down the mountain.

They were expected to reach Nauradhar, a main starting point for the trek, but did not arrive.

Police were told about the problem at about 8 p.m.

on Sunday.

Officers checked the information with the Churdhar temple committee.

The committee confirmed that the trekkers had started coming down earlier that morning.

Shimla police searched for them and rescued them during the night.
