Sakinakyacha Maharaja’s 45-Foot Idol Named Mumbai’s Tallest Ganpati
A group in Saki Naka made a very large statue of Lord Ganesha for Ganeshotsav.
The statue is 45 feet tall, about as high as a small building.
The Winners Book of World Records recognised it as Mumbai’s tallest Ganpati idol.
It shows Ganesha wearing a traditional turban and holding a sword and trident.
Workers built the statue at the festival site because it was too large to move.
The nearby festival area was designed to look like the historic Malhar Temple of Jejuri.
Thousands of people are expected to attend its immersion ceremony.
Organisers will use a large crane and manage overhead wires to keep the procession safe.
