Balancing Paper Ganpati Idols Captivate Mumbai Devotees

Mumbai celebrated the arrival of Lord Ganesha with large processions on August 29.

Two unusual idols attracted special attention.

One idol from Mumbai Cha Peshwa was reportedly made completely from paper.

It looked as if Ganesha were floating in the air.

The idol was balanced on a small veena beneath him.

Another idol came from Morya Maulana Azad Road Cha.

It showed Ganesha dressed and posed like Shri Ram from the Ramayana.

Ganesha stood on Hanuman’s palm, and Hanuman balanced on one leg on a mountain.

People admired the creative designs and careful construction.
