Bhu Bharati Aims to Permanently Resolve Farmers’ Land Issues

Telangana is checking land records through a programme called Bhu Bharati.

The government says this will help farmers prove which land belongs to them.

Officials are re-surveying fields with modern technology and accurate maps.

In Bethupalli, about 6,000 acres have already been checked.

Farmers will have 30 days to report problems with the survey.

Officials will resolve those complaints before final records are prepared.

Landholders will later receive Bhudhaar cards.

The government also wants to protect farm roads and ponds from being wrongly claimed or encroached upon.

The minister said the programme will be an important test of the government’s performance in the next elections.
