Housing land deals exceed 7,700 acres amid strong demand
Real estate companies bought or partnered to develop large areas of land in India.
The deals happened from January 2021 through March 2026.
Altogether, the deals covered 18,158 acres in 33 cities.
Some of the land will be used to build homes.
Housing-related deals covered 7,714 acres.
Other land will be used for offices, malls, industrial parks, logistics facilities and data centres.

Cushman & Wakefield said strong demand for homes encouraged this activity.
Real estate firms transacted 18,158 acres across more than 880 deals in 33 Indian cities between January 2021 and March 2026.
Residential projects accounted for 7,714 acres, making housing the largest land-use category reported.
The deals covered outright purchases, joint ventures and joint development agreements.
Outright purchases totaled 10,910 acres, while joint ventures and joint developments covered more than 4,405 acres.
Cushman & Wakefield said sustained housing demand and firms’ expansion plans supported the land-market activity.
