Fire breaks out in Gujarat Secretariat basement in Gandhinagar

A fire started in a big government office building in a city called Gandhinagar.

The fire began in the basement, the part of the building that is below ground.

Firefighters got a phone call about the fire early in the morning.

They rushed to the building to help put it out.

It took them about one hour to get the fire under control.

Even after the flames were stopped, a lot of smoke kept coming out of the building.

No one knows yet what caused the fire to start.

The building is home to the office that runs elections in the state.

It also has offices for departments that look after water, rivers, and women and children.

People are glad the fire was stopped before it could spread further.
