Prabir Mukherjee is an 80‑year‑old doctor who had given his family land to a builder named Jay Kamdar.
Kamdar promised Mukherjee a flat in a new building but later demanded money and threatened him.

Kamdar, linked to Trinamool Congress, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in April for land‑grabbing and money‑laundering.
Mukherjee and other residents, including Jyotirmoy Jana, thanked Suvendu Adhikari at Janatar Darbar for resolving their property disputes.
The chief minister’s office and police assisted in securing the flats and houses for the complainants.
