Heroin Seizures Reveal Twin Smuggling Routes Into Jammu
Officials in Jammu and Kashmir seized a large amount of heroin in two investigations.

The Narcotics Control Bureau seized 6.920 kilograms of heroin in two operations over the past two weeks.
Officials said traffickers used both the Punjab-Jammu corridor and the Uri sector to move drugs toward Jammu.
A September 3 bus interception near Samba recovered 522 grams of heroin from a passenger traveling from Punjab.
Investigators later recovered 197 grams in Ludhiana and arrested Aaqib Bashir; three Baramulla residents were also arrested in the other case.
Officials said drug proceeds may finance weapons purchases and alleged that Pakistan is trying to push narcotics into Jammu and Kashmir.
