New Canada-US bridge opens for trade
Traffic to start flowing Monday across new bridge between Canada and US · livemint.com

A new bridge called the Gordie Howe International Bridge is opening between Canada and the U.S. This bridge is very important for trade because more than 70% of Canada's exports go to the U.S. The bridge is named after a famous hockey player, Gordie Howe.

It cost $6.4 billion to build and took many years to finish, partly because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Canada paid for the bridge and will share some of the money from tolls with the U.S. for 15 years.

The bridge is 1.5 miles long and very tall.

People will be able to walk or ride bikes across it for free in a few weeks.
