VinGroup's Green and Smart Mobility (GSM) is going to start an electric taxi service in India soon.

They plan to have 500 electric cars in five big cities.

The taxis will be based on the VinFast Limo Green MPV.

GSM owns the taxis and employs the drivers, which is different from other cab services like Ola and Uber.

They also plan to launch three new electric vehicles in India this year.

VinFast has invested $1 billion in India and is setting up more plants to make electric buses and scooters.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VinFast Asia

“This is distinct from simple ride-hailing services. We will own the vehicles, and the drivers -- always uniformed -- will be employed by us so that service quality is better. We are also open to selling these taxis to independent drivers or fleet operators who wish to use VinFast cars.”
