Baloch National Movement Claims Nine Killed, Dozens Disappeared in Nushki

The Baloch National Movement is a group that says it speaks for people in a region of Pakistan called Balochistan.

The group says that Pakistani soldiers have surrounded a district called Nushki for many months.

Because of this, people cannot move around freely, and the group compares the area to an "open-air prison."

The group says that just in the past week, at least nine people were killed and dozens more were taken away by the army.

No one knows where the missing people are, which is called a "forced disappearance."

The blockade has caused shortages of medicine and food, and even ambulances carrying sick people were stopped.

The group also says soldiers broke into shops, looted goods, and damaged buildings during the curfew.

The Baloch National Movement says the army is punishing all the people for the actions of some, which it calls "collective punishment."

Another group, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, agrees and is asking countries around the world to pay attention and help.
