Delhi MCD to Send Nearly ₹70 Crore to Schoolchildren
MCD To Disburse Nearly ₹70 Crore To 5.1 Lakh Delhi School Students For Uniforms, School Bags From This Week · freepressjournal.in

Delhi’s civic body is starting payments to help school students get uniforms and school bags.

About 5.1 lakh children whose bank details are available are expected to receive money in the first phase.

Each student will get ₹1,370 for these items.

The total set aside for this phase is about ₹69.87 crore.

MCD has identified 6,56,950 students as eligible for the 2026–27 school year.

Some children may not yet have an active bank account, so officials say they are working to address missing or outdated details.

MCD will provide notebooks and other stationery directly through schools instead of sending students ₹300 for those supplies.

Officials said this change was made because transfers for stationery had been delayed.
