West Bengal govt starts drive to fill 25,000 vacancies
The government of West Bengal, a state in India, wants to hire more than 25,000 people for government jobs.
The government says it will do this in a fair and open way, so that everyone gets an equal chance.
To make sure the hiring is fair, two experienced government officers have been put in charge.
One is Anil Verma, a retired senior officer, and the other is Dushwant Nariala, who leads the school jobs panel.

Earlier, many people were upset because they believed past job hiring in the state was unfair.

West Bengal's BJP government has begun recruiting for more than 25,000 vacancies, its first major hiring drive after promising one lakh jobs this financial year.
The WBPSC announced 17,714 vacancies across Groups A, B and C in 54 departments, with 12.65 lakh aspirants having applied.
Chief minister Suvendu Adhikari said retired IAS officer Anil Verma heads the PSC and IAS officer Dushwant Nariala heads the SSC to ensure free and fair recruitment.
Adhikari promised no political interference in hiring and accused previous Left and Trinamool governments of unfair recruitment practices.
The PSC said it will strengthen infrastructure on the lines of the UPSC to stick to its exam calendar, and 8,008 more vacancies will be advertised soon.
