29 NIT Rourkela Faculty Named Among World’s Top Scientists
A global list names scientists whose research has had a strong citation impact.
Twenty-nine NIT Rourkela faculty members made the latest list.
A former NIT Rourkela student, Srimanta Patra, was included too, making 30 researchers associated with the institute.

NIT Rourkela PhD graduate Srimanta Patra, now a DST-INSPIRE faculty member at IIT Guwahati, was also included, bringing the total associated with the institute to 30.
The list was prepared by Stanford University professor John P. A. Ioannidis and his team and published by Elsevier through its Data Repository.
Researchers are ranked using citation impact, including total citations, co-authorship-adjusted impact, author position, h-index and other citation measures.
Nineteen researchers from the institute were also included in the 2026 career-long category.
