Karnataka man held for sharing provocative social media content

A young man in India got in trouble for things he did on social media.

His name is Mohammed Sahil and he is 24 years old.

He lives in Raichur, a city in the Indian state of Karnataka.

Police say he liked, posted, and shared videos and pictures that could make people angry or hateful toward others.

The posts came from an Instagram page called "Rana Bhai."

Police have a special team that watches social media for harmful content.

They looked at his phone and also found messages he exchanged on WhatsApp with the person behind the page.

Police say those messages were also mean and hateful.

Because of this, Sahil was arrested and now has to answer for what he shared.

This case shows that sharing hurtful content online can have serious consequences.
