Barasat MP Kakali Ghosh Accuses Trinamool, Mamata of Corruption
Kakali Ghosh Dastidar is a Member of Parliament from Barasat.
She used to belong to the Trinamool Congress party.
She said she left the party because she believed serious corruption had taken place.
She accused people connected with the government of taking money from projects meant to help poor families.
She also criticized party leader Mamata Banerjee’s behavior in recent years.
Kakali said she had admired Mamata since childhood but could no longer accept what she called her decline.
After leaving Trinamool, Kakali joined the Nationalist Citizens Party of India.
She also said people had used offensive language against her online and that she reported it to police.
Barasat MP Kakali Ghosh Dastidar accused the Trinamool Congress government of large-scale corruption.
She alleged coal, cow and gold smuggling, money laundering and payments demanded from welfare schemes.
Kakali said Mamata Banerjee’s conduct over the past five to seven years led her to leave Trinamool.
She left Trinamool on June 14 and joined the Nationalist Citizens Party of India with other MPs.
Kakali also complained to Barasat’s Superintendent of Police about alleged obscene online attacks against her.
