Maharashtra Woman, Two Children Die After Fort Jump
A woman named Ashwini Manohar Pol went to Naldurg Fort with her three children.
She and two of the children died after falling from a high part of the fort.
Her other daughter was badly hurt and is receiving hospital treatment.
Police first recorded the incident as an accidental death.
Later, Ashwini’s father made a complaint.
He said her husband and some relatives had troubled her about dowry.
He also alleged they pressured her because she had twin daughters.
Police then opened a case, but no one has been arrested so far.
Ashwini Manohar Pol, 30, and two of her children died after falling from Naldurg Fort in Dharashiv district.
Her other daughter was seriously injured and remains hospitalized, police said.
The incident occurred Thursday at the fort’s Upli bastion, its tallest point.
The woman’s father alleged that her husband and three relatives harassed her over dowry and twin daughters.
Police registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections covering dowry death, abetment of suicide, cruelty and common intention; no arrests have been made.
