Nazia Khanam was a 30-year-old government officer who worked for the Ministry of Defence.
She was found dead at the home she shared with her husband in Delhi.

Thirty-year-old Ministry of Defence Assistant Section Officer Nazia Khanam was found hanging at her rented Delhi home on August 21.
Police received a call about an alleged suicide at 4:21 p.m. in the Bharthal village area of Dwarka Sector 23.
Nazia’s husband, Mohd. Azam Ali Khan, told police they argued before she locked him in another room and hanged herself with a dupatta.
Her family alleges that her husband and in-laws harassed, belittled and beat her, and claims her death was staged as a suicide.
Police registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 85 and 108 and are examining statements and other evidence.
