Mumbai Fake Doctor Arrested For Running Clinic With Forged Certificates
A man in Mumbai pretended to be a doctor even though he had not gone to medical school.
He only finished school up to Class 12.
He was running a small clinic in a place called Bandra East.
Police and city health officials heard about it and decided to check.
When they raided the clinic at night, four patients were waiting to see him.
The man showed them papers that said he was a doctor, but later he admitted the papers were not real.
He was giving people injections and using machines that doctors use, which can be dangerous.
Police took away all his medicines and medical tools.
He was arrested and may be in trouble for putting patients' health at risk.
Bandra Police and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) jointly arrested Mohammed Aftab Sokim Khan (56), a Class 12-pass man, for allegedly running a clinic in Bandra East with forged medical certificates.
The accused allegedly treated patients, administered injections for serious ailments, and used a nebuliser without having any recognised medical qualification.
Acting on confidential information from Mumbai Crime Branch Unit 8, officials conducted a surprise raid at around 9:30 pm on August 10, 2026, at Dr Aftab Khan Clinic in the Ghas Bazar area of Navpada, Bandra East.
Four patients were found waiting for treatment during the raid; Khan presented certificates purportedly issued by the Maharashtra Council of Indian Medicine and the All India Ayurveda Vidyapeeth but later admitted he had no medical degree.
Police seized a large quantity of medicines and medical equipment, including syringes, a blood pressure monitor, stethoscope, blood sugar testing machine, nebuliser and pulse oximeter, and registered a case for endangering patients' lives, practising medicine illegally and cheating.
