These attractions may include floating restaurants, cruise boats and houseboats.

Floating restaurants and cruises are planned at three water bodies near Hyderabad.

Houseboats are planned at Nagarjunasagar, Somasila and Ramappa Lake.

The houseboats must have at least five air-conditioned bedrooms.

Private companies will build and operate the facilities with government approval.

They must provide safety equipment such as life jackets, fire-fighting tools and GPS systems.

Telangana says its new tourism policy could bring large investments and create many jobs.

The 120-seat double-decker cruise boat Muchukunda already operates on Hussainsagar.
Floating facility locations
Ibrahimpatnam Cheruvu, Kokapet Lake and Malkam Cheruvu in Hyderabad.
Houseboat locations
Nagarjunasagar, Somasila and Ramappa Lake.
Capacity
Floating restaurants and luxury dine-in cruises are expected to seat about 100 passengers.
Houseboat standard
Each houseboat must include at least five air-conditioned bedrooms with attached bathrooms.
Minimum investment
Private operators must invest ₹5 crore for each floating restaurant and ₹5 crore for a houseboat at each location.
Tourism policy targets
The Telangana Tourism Policy 2025–30 targets ₹15,000 crore in tourism investment and three lakh additional jobs.
