BJP Seeks Delay in Tripura Voter Roll Revision

Tripura is preparing to check and update its voter lists.

The BJP has asked election officials to postpone this work.

It says many officials and political party workers will be busy with local Village Committee elections on September 28.

The voter-list review is currently planned to begin on September 5, 2026.

Officials are scheduled to visit homes and give voters forms to complete.

A draft voter list is expected on October 21.

The final voter list is planned for December 23.

The Election Commission will decide what to do with the BJP’s request.
