Tripura Tribal Village Committee Polls Set Political Battle
Tripura will hold elections for local village committees in its tribal areas.
These committees are similar to village councils in other parts of the state.

Nominations close on September 8, withdrawals on September 11, and vote counting is scheduled for October 5.
The election authority said 961,977 voters, including 479,930 women and 482,041 men, are eligible to vote.
