Rajamouli's 'Varanasi' Awaits Global Anchor, Lacks International Distributor

A very famous movie maker from India, S.S. Rajamouli, is making a big new movie called 'Varanasi.'

The movie costs a huge amount of money to make — more than most movies in India.

When a movie costs that much, it needs to be shown in theaters all over the world to earn its money back.

Big movies usually get help from a worldwide company that puts the movie in theaters in many countries.

But 'Varanasi' does not have that help yet.

Two other Indian movies do have such deals.

A movie called 'Toxic' has an agreement to show in places like the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and the Gulf.

Another movie, 'Ramayana,' is working with a big company called Sony to show it around the world.

So right now, the big question is how and where 'Varanasi' will be shown outside India.
