Agnimitra Paul Calls for Street-Level Cleanliness Action
A cleanliness event was held at Kalyani University before Gandhi Jayanti.
Minister Agnimitra Paul said people must fight garbage and pollution in everyday public spaces.
She asked people to stop using single-use plastic.
She also supported fines for people who dump waste carelessly.
Paul suggested alternatives such as bags made from corn.
She wants old waste across West Bengal to be cleared by 2027.
University Vice-Chancellor Kallol Pal said cleanliness should be treated as everyone’s civic responsibility.
More than 200 students and university staff joined the cleanup.
