Bittu Tabahi’s Cleanup Campaign Removes Waste Across Delhi-NCR
Bittu Tabahi is a young environmental volunteer who cleans rivers and public places.
He started by cleaning the Ajnar River in Madhya Pradesh.
His campaign later reached Delhi, Gurugram and Noida.
In Delhi, volunteers removed about 585 kilograms of rubbish from the Yamuna riverbank.
In Gurugram, they removed another 2,435 kilograms near Khedki Daula.
The rubbish included plastic and religious items such as flower garlands.
Bittu says plastic can be dangerous when stray cattle eat it.
He often works with simple tools and has faced health and safety problems while cleaning.
Surendra Singh Choudhary, known as Bittu Tabahi, brought his #CleanWithBittu campaign from Madhya Pradesh to Delhi-NCR.
Volunteers removed about 585 kilograms of waste from the Yamuna riverbank in Delhi on September 20.
The campaign later removed 2,435 kilograms of waste from a littered stretch near Khedki Daula in Gurugram.
The collected waste included plastic, religious offerings and other discarded material that could harm stray cattle.
The final phase was announced for Yuva Shakti Ghat in Noida, while Bittu’s wider mission has been funded largely through his savings.
