Manipal Hospital Launches Sunday OPDs for Easier Healthcare Access
Manipal Hospital on EM Bypass has started seeing patients on Sundays.
The consultations happen from 10am to 1pm.
Patients can visit doctors in several departments, such as heart care, bone care and children’s medicine.
This helps people who are busy at work during the week.
It also helps older patients who need family members to accompany them.
People who travel from far away may find Sundays more convenient.
Doctors say some patients might otherwise visit emergency departments when regular appointments are unavailable.
Other hospitals in Calcutta are also offering or planning Sunday consultations.
Manipal Hospital, EM Bypass, now offers Sunday consultations from 10am to 1pm.
The Sunday OPDs cover nine specialties, including cardiology, orthopaedics, neurology and paediatrics.
Doctors said the service helps working professionals, elderly patients and relatives who cannot attend weekday appointments.
Patients said Sunday consultations reduce the need to take time off work and make travel easier.
Peerless Hospital already runs Sunday OPDs, while Narayana Health plans to introduce them soon.
