West Bengal Police Arrest Third Terrorist Suspect
West Bengal police and the National Investigation Agency arrested three people who were linked to a terrorist group called Jaish‑e‑Mohammed.
One of the suspects, Aditya Singh, took pictures of a minister’s son and sent them to the group.
The police think the group wanted to kidnap the son.
They found evidence that the suspects were in contact with Pakistani militants and used cryptocurrency.
Police officials said they are working closely with the special task force to stop any more attacks.
West Bengal police arrested a third suspect, Aditya Singh, linked to Jaish‑e‑Mohammed, after earlier arrests of Hamim Mondal and Arpita Sarkar.
Singh allegedly photographed West Bengal Minister Umesh Rai’s son and shared the images with JeM associates via a secret social media app.
The suspects are accused of planning to kidnap Rai’s son using a honey‑trap scheme and of receiving threats against the minister.
NIA investigators found evidence of Pakistani militant contacts and cryptocurrency transactions tied to the plot.
Kolkata police commissioner Ajay Nand said authorities are closely working with the Bengal STF to act on any new information.
