Odisha is working with two organizations to better prepare for disasters.

One partner is the United Nations Development Programme, also known as UNDP.

The other is CivicDataLab.

Together, they will study hazards and risks in all 30 districts.

They will also examine which people and places may be most vulnerable.

A digital mapping platform will help officials understand this information.

CivicDataLab will help organize disaster data so different systems can work together.

The goal is to help Odisha act earlier and plan safer development.
