Microsoft to Unveil Maia 300 AI Chip This Fall: Report
Microsoft plans to unveil next-generation AI chip in September: Report · indianexpress.com

Microsoft is making its own special computer part called a chip, which is like the brain of a computer.

The new chip is called the Maia 300.

Microsoft plans to show it off this fall, maybe as soon as September.

Another company, called TSMC, is helping build the chips.

Microsoft hopes to get more than 300,000 of these chips made by 2027.

It would even like to make more than one million of them.

Microsoft is making its own chips because chips from a company called Nvidia cost a lot of money.

Other big companies like Google and Amazon are also making their own chips.

Microsoft wants companies that use cloud computers, like Anthropic, to use the new chip.

A report says the new chip could be more than 30% better at handling AI tasks for every dollar spent.
