Mumbai Police Deploy 17,000 Personnel for Ganeshotsav Security
Mumbai Police are preparing for Ganeshotsav celebrations in 2026.
About 17,000 police personnel will help keep people safe.
Senior officers and other police teams are included in the plan.
Special teams and Home Guards will also assist.
The police expect very large crowds on the day when Ganesh idols are immersed.
More officers will be placed at sensitive spots and along important routes.
People are being asked to stay careful and cooperate with the police.
They should report unattended or suspicious objects and can call 100 or 112 for help.
Around 17,000 Mumbai Police personnel will secure Ganeshotsav 2026 celebrations across Mumbai.
The deployment includes seven Additional Commissioners, 37 DCPs, 52 ACPs, 2,650 police officers and 14,150 police personnel.
SRPF platoons, Quick Response Teams, Riot Control Teams and Home Guards will support the regular police force.
Separate security arrangements are planned for Ganesh idol immersion day, including extra personnel on major routes and at sensitive locations.
Police urged citizens to stay alert, report suspicious objects and call 100 or 112 for immediate assistance.
