Minor landslide hits Ghodbunder Road in Thane; no injuries
A landslide is when dirt and big rocks slide down a hill.
On Monday evening, a small landslide happened in Thane, a city in India.
Dirt and heavy stones fell onto a busy road called Ghodbunder Road.
It happened near a large housing complex called Lodha Splendora, where many people live.
The good news is that nobody was hurt.
The city's emergency team heard about the landslide at 8:40 in the evening.
Workers came with a big digging machine called a JCB and removed the rocks and soil.
Soon the road was clean and cars could drive on it again.
The area was closed off with tape to keep people safe.
Yasin Tadvi, the head of Thane's disaster management team, gave information about the incident.
A minor landslide of soil and heavy stones struck Ghodbunder Road near the Lodha Splendora residential complex in Bhayandarpada, Thane, on Monday evening, August 17.
The emergency control room received information about the incident at approximately 8:40 pm.
No injuries or casualties were reported.
Emergency teams from the RDMC, Fire Brigade, PWD and Thane Municipal Corporation's Electrical Department used an earth excavator (JCB) to clear debris and restore traffic.
The affected spot was cordoned off with danger tape and the nearby hillside area was secured as a precaution.
