Ganesh Utsav Pandals Draw Devotees Across Madhya Pradesh

People across parts of Madhya Pradesh are celebrating Ganesh Utsav with large idols and decorated pandals.

In Sendhwa, one group built a copy of Vrindavan’s Prem Mandir.

A large Lord Ganesha idol has been placed inside it.

The pandal also shows stories about Lord Krishna and hosts evening Rasa Leela performances.

In Palsud, groups made copies of famous temples such as Badrinath Dham.

In Pansemal, more than 70 groups and families created colourful festival displays.

Visitors can see religious tableaux, attend prayers and receive food as prasad.

Many devotees also visit the historic Kila Gate Ganesh temple in Sendhwa for blessings.

Sendhwa replica: A 60-by-100-foot replica of Vrindavan’s Prem Mandir houses a large Lord Ganesha idol.
Construction period: Workers built the Sendhwa structure over nearly three months using iron rods, wood, thermocol sheets and velvet fabric.
Sendhwa performances: Artists from Delhi stage Rasa Leela from 7 pm to 11 pm.

Kila Gate temple: The Sendhwa temple opens from 4:30 am to noon and again from 5 pm to 10 pm.
Festival tradition: The Kila Gate temple conducts special chola decoration, abhishek and Atharvashirsha prayers during Ganesh Utsav.
