Families Plead for Help as Nepal Floods Leave Travellers Missing

Severe floods hit Nepal near the border with China on Wednesday.

Hundreds of people died, and more than 2,000 are still missing.

Some of the missing people were travelers on a tour headed toward Mount Kailash in Tibet.

One tour company said its 40 guests and seven guides could not be found.

Several families in the United States are waiting anxiously for news.

Mukti Patel’s father, sister, brother-in-law and another relative are among those missing.

Another missing traveler, Jiwan Jyoti, had called her family shortly before the floods arrived.

Rescuers are searching the mud and trying to find survivors.

The families are hopeful but say they need more information and help.
