A company from the Adani Group has offered to build part of Bengaluru’s suburban railway.

The planned section will be 1.2 kilometres long and run between Yeshwanthpur and Mattikere.

It will have trains and a station on one level, with roads underneath.

Buses, cars and two-wheelers will use the lower road deck.

The project is part of the larger Mallige Corridor-2 suburban rail route.

Semindia Projects offered ₹665.61 crore, the lowest bid received.

K-RIDE still has to complete the tender process and issue a work order.

Construction is expected to take 24 months after that happens.
