Naidu Set to Inaugurate Veligonda Project by August End
The Veligonda Project is a large water project in Andhra Pradesh.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu plans to open it by the end of August.
The project will move Krishna water through tunnels into the Nallamala Sagar reservoir.
That reservoir can hold 43.50 tmc ft of water.

Families who had to leave their homes for the project are receiving financial help.
Officials say the project could improve farming, groundwater, and water security in the region.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is expected to inaugurate the Veligonda Project by the end of August.
The government has provided ₹518 crore in relief payments to families displaced by the project.
A further ₹400 crore is expected to be paid to affected families soon.
Krishna water is expected to flow through the tunnels into the 43.50-tmc-ft Nallamala Sagar reservoir by August end.
The project is designed to irrigate nearly 4.47 lakh acres and provide drinking water to drought- and fluoride-affected areas.
