One night, Russia and Ukraine fired missiles and drones at each other's cities.

They are two countries that have been fighting a war for a long time.

In Russia's Belgorod area, Ukrainian drones sadly killed five people and hurt about two dozen more, including a four-year-old boy.

In Ukraine, Russian missiles hit a tall apartment building in the city of Kharkiv, killing two people and hurting 13 others.

The city of Odesa was also hit by many missiles and drones, and eight people were hurt there.

Ukraine's leader, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, says his country doesn't have enough special machines called Patriot systems to stop Russia's fast missiles.

He has been asking other countries to send more Patriots to protect people.

He also wants to make Patriot ammunition in Ukraine, or use Elon Musk's Starlink satellites to guide attacks against Russian missile launchers.

Ukraine has also been sending its own long-range drones to hit important places inside Russia, like fuel and energy buildings.

This shows that the war affects people in big cities far away from the front lines, not just soldiers.
